Our Sannidhi History

The Gadwal region has traditionally been regarded, since ancient times, as a place known for Vedic traditions, Sanskrit learning, and spiritual lineage. According to the traditional accounts of the Matha, approximately 250 years ago the 27th Peethadhipati of Sri Ahobila Matha — Srimad Azhagiya Singar Sri Van Satakopa Sri Veeraragahava Vedanta Yatindra Mahadesikan — visited the Gadwal region. The rulers of the Gadwal Samsthanam are traditionally held to have accepted discipleship under the Acharya and to have received the Pancha Samskaras of the Sri Vaishnava tradition. By the Acharya's grace, the Sannidhi of Sri Yoga Lakshmi Narasimha Swami was established in Gadwal, and the order of worship continued according to the Pancharatra Agama tradition.

Present-day Sannidhi

Today, the Ahobila Matha Yoga Lakshmi Narasimha Sannidhi in Gadwal stands as a sacred place for darshan, worship, sevas, and spiritual experience for devotees. The various sevas, festivals, Veda parayanams, and special aradhanas conducted here continue the Sri Vaishnava ritual tradition, with the aim of connecting devotees to the grace of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami.
